Retired Judge Robert Nugent, said on Tuesday that Sars Commissioner Tom Moyane should be fired immediately.
The judge who is leading a commission of inquiry into tax administration and governance at Sars, made the remarks in his interim report which he submitted to the President.
EWN Reporter Barry Bateman who is covering the Nugent Commission Inquiry into Sars says earlier on Wednesday IT contractor David Wickens testified.
He was appointed to specifically deal with the procurement in the IT environment and this was part of the whole modernisation programme that was on the go.Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
Bateman adds that Wickens led a team which dealt with IT procurement which continuously kept the Sars infrastructure and software up to date.
We heard about the moratorium placed in 2014 when they wanted to put an end to this modernisation process and he says he found out overnight that his role was no longer available.Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
He says the new model turned his environment into disarray in that people didn't know what to do and there wasn't a proper handover.Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
