[LISTEN] The first 3 steps to access your inner child
In the wellness feature, psychologist and coach Yasmeen Engelbrecht continues the conversation surrounding the inner child, by chatting about the 3 steps that allow you to access it.
Engelbrecht says that we all know that there's this little person inside us.
She adds that the inner child offers us the opportunity to practice self-love everyday.
We're all artists, our lives are suppose to be our work of art.
Yasmeen Engelbrecht, coach, writer and psychologist
Engelbrecht says that in most instances, the inner child hasn't met their needs.
She adds that you as the adult, must parent your inner child.
When we start inner child work, we want to make sure that we want to step up, we don't want to let her/him down for the second time.
Yasmeen Engelbrecht, coach, writer and psychologist
The 3 steps we're talking about are the pre-steps to making contact says Engelbrecht.
She adds that the first need of a child is nourishment and safety.
The first step is to make your world safe enough so your inner child can come play in your external world.
