Economists discuss the various economic models used in the world and which one South Africa is using.

Senior lecturer at the School of Economic and Business Science at Wits University Lumkile Mondi says the ANC has marginalised capable blacks that are not comrades.

He further says that cadres that are incompetent get rewarded.

Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh spoke to senior lecturer at the School of Economic and Business Science at Wits University Lumkile Mondi and CitiBank Economist Gina Schoeman about some of the challenges facing Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni.

The biggest challenge is that South Africa is a microeconomic model.

Lumkile Mondi, Senior Lecturer at the School of Economic and Business Science at Wits University
