The General Council of the Bar of South Africa has issued a statement distancing itself from Defence counsel Peter Daubermann in the Timothy Omotoso trial.
Daubermann has come under fire for his cross-examination of Cherly Zondi in the witness stand. He has been labelled as aggressive, badgering and unfair.

We felt that we should give some information on the rules of cross-examination. It was not our purpose to comment positively or negatively about his conduct.— Advocate Craig Watt-Pringle, Chairman of the General Council of the Bar of SA
