'Investment Summit is an opportunity for SA to showcase itself to the world'

The South Africa Investment Conference kicked off on Thursday with over a 1,000 delegates comprising of top global CEOs and companies.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially open the conference on Friday.

The three-day summit will be held at the Convention Centre under the theme “Accelerating Growth by Building Partnerships”.

Clement Manyathela, standing in for Karima Brown, spoke to President of the Black Business Council Sandile Zungu on their expectations for the summit.

This conference must be a very glorious opportunity for South Africa to showcase itself to the world and community of prospective investors, what it has to offer. At the same time it is in an opportunity for us to tell the world what we are doing to make sure our environment is ideally suited for a person who wants to be part of our community in the long term.

Sandile Zungu, President of the Black Business Council

I think it is ideal because if you look at the United States, it is increasing interest rates and that basically means short term capital is going to flow back to the US, because it offers investors greater comfort and for a better return why not?
