'ANC integrity committee deals with issues that are referred to it by the NEC'

The African National Congress (ANC) integrity committee says that members implicated in the VBS Mutual Bank saga should be directed to step aside from all leadership positions and all activities of the ANC.

Integrity commission chairperson George Mashamba says the reputation and credibility of the ANC has been seriously damaged and the situation will only worsen if those implicated remain in office.

Mashamba says they only deal with issues referred from the NEC.
