President Cyril Ramaphosa and Police Minister Bheki Cele are in Hanover Park in Cape Town to officially launch the police’s anti-gang unit.
The president interacted with residents in a walkabout, where he heard about challenges faced in the area.
Ramaphosa briefly addressed residents as he stopped in the middle of Surwood Walk where 19-year-old Ameerodien Noordien was gunned down last month.

In the Western Cape alone, police this week said that there has been over 50 arrests since operational deployment and that was at the beginning of October.
