'The ANC has simply had enough of Gigaba' - DA Shadow Minister of Home Affairs
Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba was due to answer questions by Parliament’s Home Affairs Committee on the Oppenheimer family's private airport terminal, but an about-turn by the committee saw him given a reprieve.
Speaking to Bongani Bingwa, DA Shadow Minister of Home Affairs Haniff Hoosen says the session was somewhat disappointing but he thinks they managed to get some work done.
It is just unfortunate that the committee did the turn that it did yesterday and I was very surprised when they did.Haniff Hoosen, DA Shadow Minister of Home Affairs
Because last week, it appeared that they were very committed to getting to the bottom of it. I think that off-the-record conversations that I had with members in the committee, is very clear to me that I think that the ANC has simply had enough of Malusi Gigaba and they just didn't want to give him a platform.Haniff Hoosen, DA Shadow Minister of Home Affairs
He adds that even though the ANC has had enough of Gigaba, South Africa deserves to get an opportunity to hear him account.
