[LISTEN] What are the tangible benefits of early childhood development?

Childhood development facility, Cotlands is running an Early Childhood Development campaign called "Previously Advantaged".

It aims to widen the access to early childhood development (ECD), to ensure more children are given valuable input in those first three years of their lives.

CEO of Cotlands, Dr Monica Stach, joined Joanne Joseph on the Afternoon Drive to share more on the campaign and some of the tangible benefits of ECD.

There have been some studies where children that have been exposed to early childhood development are more likely to be employed, likely to complete schooling careers, less likely to become part of crime. In the long term it has some serious financial benefits if we can get children to have a good solid foundation in the early years.

Dr Monica Stach, CEO of Cotlands

What the campaign tries to put forward is that people who have been successful in life, had the previous advantage of early childhood development.
