How to take stock of your career and set next year's goals

How has 2018 been for you career-wise and what are your plans for the year ahead?

Personal development coach Pippa Leicher says it is important for you to look back, evaluate your level job satisfaction and plot the way forward.

Leicher advises that there's great value in reflecting on the year, your career achievements, obstacles and future opportunities.

At the same time, Leicher warns against dwelling on the past too much and negative self-talk. She encourages the idea forward thinking.

She suggests that you identify your goals (where you want to be) and work backwards to your current situation, which she says is your starting point.

Create a plan and set smaller objectives that you can plot on a timeline to keep you on track, Leicher shares.

If you feel that you haven't moved forward enough to your own liking, that's your starting point.
