Over 50 artists have come together to pay tribute to South African artists Johnny Clegg with their own rendition of his soulful song, 'The Crossing'.
The song, accompanied by a a video, was played to Clegg for the very first time on Wednesday, at a private event at the luxury boutique hotel, Ellerman House in Cape Town.
The musical item features the likes of Elvis Blue, Vusi Mahlasela and Freshly Ground singer Zolani Mahola.
Azania Mosaka spoke to Ellerman House General manager Paul Bruce-Brand on how it all transpired.

So we thought it would be so incredible to do something for the impact that Johnny Clegg has had on my life and the lives of pretty much every musician. I was chatting to Karl Morbee from the Parlotones and we thought, why don't we get a few musicians together and do a tribute song.
