Check out BlitzBokke #Madiba100 jersey for Cape Town 7s

The much anticipated HSBC Cape Town Sevens kicks off this weekend at the Cape Town Stadium where the Blitzboks and New Zealand will clash during the pool stages.

President of South African Rugby Union (SARU), Mark Alexander, says the Blitzbokke will be wearing special, limited edition jerseys made in honour of Madiba.

Saru has partnered with Asics to create a special Blitzbokke jersey to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday.

Madiba has done so much in sports since the Olympic games in 1992. He was a mentor to the players, he used to phone to chat with the captains and Francois Pienaar had a special relationship with him.

We thought the one way to pay tribute to him is to create a jersey for his 100th birthday.

Alexander encourages fans to go out and buy the jersey because there is only a limited amount.
