The African National Congress (ANC) KwaZulu Natal Provincial list conference is underway. The province has to consolidate a list of ANC members that have been nominated by the branches to be deployed to the provincial and national legislature.
Hundreds of members from different regions are gathering at the Durban University of Technology for the conference.
Members will select 80 names nominated for the provincial legislature and 120 for the National Assembly.
EWN reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo says the list of candidates appears to be inclusive and members were urged to select young delegates as well as members from the Tripartite Alliance.
Ngcobo adds that the list doesn't feature former president Jacob Zuma despite rumours that suggested it would.
But his strongest allies Malusi Gigaba and Bathabile Dlamini appear at the top of the list for people to go to Parliament. And another interesting name that has popped up is Deputy President David Mabuza who was second on the national to national list.— Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN Reporter
