Cape's beachgoers 'well behaved' this festive season

The City of Cape Town's Mayco member responsible for safety and security, JP Smith and other city officials have been joining patrols at festive season hotspots to ensure no major incidents take place.

To help make the holiday experience more enjoyable for visitors, Smith says they have re-opened some of the public showers that had been shut down due to water restrictions and also water slides within the city.

We also extended the swimming pool closure times to 7pm.

Smith says beachgoers have been cooperative and really listening to law enforcement and lifeguards, but there have been some incidents.
