President Cyril Ramaphosa began his door-to-door campaign in the Masinenge informal settlement in KwaZulu Natal on Monday.
The area is considered to be a Democratic AIliance stronghold, but the President insists that KwaZulu-Natal will always be the home of the ANC.

EWN reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo spoke to local residents about why they are supporting the Democratic Alliance.
They had said one of the reasons that had voted for the opposition was that the ANC, because of its own infighting, had replaced the person they had elected [and who voters liked] and that's why people chose to vote otherwise.— Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN Reporter
