'Voter turnout will determine who wins'

With various surveys conducted to predict what the South African general election outcome will be in 2019, political analyst Ralph Mathekga says turnout on election day will determine who wins the elections.

The local government elections became more about the turnout and analysts believe this will also apply to the 2019 general elections.

As far as I am concerned the African National Congress (ANC) polling above 60%, I won't say its inaccurate, but I will say it will settle below 60%. There is time before the elections and a lot can happen.

He adds that the ANC polling high shows that the opposition needs to rethink its politics. Mathekga adds that opposition parties have become more exposed after Ramaphosa took over.
