A mother whose daughter is in Grade 6 speaks out about her child being bullied at school.
This follows reports that a Grade 11 pupil at Vorentoe High School committed suicide in her Klipspruit home after allegedly being bullied by her teacher.
Roeleen* (not her real name) says her daughter was beaten by bullies in the school's toilets yesterday. She says the bullying started when her daughter was in Grade 5 and has continued.
She spoke to the teachers, the principal, and the SGB to have her daughter transferred out of that class, but sasy they are refusing to do so.
All I am asking is for my daughter to be removed from that class but they refused.— Roeleen, mother of a bullied Grade 6 pupil
Roeleen says her daughter is currently at home and refusing to go back to school because she is afraid of being bullied.
