The competition to grow the largest marijuana plant in Mzansi is giving away a R1000 cash prize for the best bushmastery.

Dagga enthusiasts who are keen on getting high off their own supply can now buy South Africa's first complete home-growing kit at Cape Town-based Starke Ayres Garden Centres.

Starke Ayres have partnered with bio-active cell food supplier Enormous Bud are offering a free 'How To Grow your Bush Outdoor' guide along with each kit purchase.

To top it off, they've partnered up on a competition to grow the largest marijuana plant in Mzansi, offering a R1000 cash prize for the best bushmastery.

Interest in learning how to grow cannabis is high, following the Constitutional Court ruling that decriminalised the private use and cultivation of dagga last year.

TransfOrmus, the parent company of Enormous Bud, explains that the kits do not include the seed because buying and selling dagga seeds remains unlawful.

The seeds are still illegal to sell or even give away. However, we know that seeds are very widely available.

Peter Searll, Managing Director at TransfOrmus

enOrmus Bud is our new product that's designed specifically at the homegrown marijuana market.

Peter Searll, Managing Director at TransfOrmus

Managing director at TransfOrmus, Peter Searll, says the kits include a bottle of enOrmus Bud, a spray bottle, a few pots, and custom-designed soil for each growing phase of the plant.

The dagga-growing competition closes on 30 May 2019 and details are available on the enOrmusBud website.
