All systems go for final voter registration weekend, says IEC

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) says its ready for the final voter registration drive this weekend.

The commission says this is the last opportunity for eligible South African voters to register their details ahead of the elections.

Rev Courtney Sampson, Head of the Western Cape IEC, has urged young people to take this opportunity to register to vote.

This is the time for those who haven't registered yet, those who want to change their addresses and check their details.

Nobody is required to give us proof of address... You have to fill in the address on the form. If you give us a false address, you are committing fraud.

The registration stations will be open from 8am until 5pm on Saturday 26 January and Sunday 27 January 2019.
