Did you buy a lottery ticket in Cape Town's northern suburb of Parow last year? You could be about to lose your winnings if you don't claim it soon.
Kieno Kammies speaks to Khensani Mabuza Corporate Relations Executive at Ithuba.
She explains that a winning R28million ticket has gone unclaimed since February 2018.
We are talking about a R28 million Powerball jackpot that is about to expire in February this year on 13 February.— Khensani Mabuza, Ithuba Corporate Relations Executive
The ticket was purchased at Shoprite Checkers in the Sanlam Centre in Parow. It was a QuickPick ticket to the value of R15.
Tickets expire after 365 days, she says. Thereafter, unclaimed money is used to further support the charities that Ithuba supports.
Ithuba has released a new national lottery app which circumvents problems like losing your ticket.
Everyone can download and play through there.— Khensani Mabuza, Ithuba Corporate Relations Executive
The new app provides a digital ticket and Ithuba will notify you of a win - and it also means you don't have to ensure your paper ticket does not get lost!
