[LISTEN] The importance of reading out loud

Friday 1 February marks World Read Aloud Day and Nal'ibali is encouraging you to read aloud to the children in your life.

Nal'ibali Literacy Mentor Sithembiso Nhlapo joined Azania Mosaka to talk about the initiative and the importance and power of reading aloud to and sharing stories with children.

Children gain self confidence if you read aloud to them on a daily basis. A lot of time when children go up and read, it needs confidence.

Sithembiso Nhlapo, Literacy Mentor - Nal'ibali

When you tell them stories in a language they understand and they can interact with you, that is when they get to a point where they love reading.
