'We must give Batohi time to breathe and find her feet' - former judge Kriegler
New National Prosecuting Authority head Shamila Batohi has her work cut out for her as she finally takes over the reigns at the troubled organisation.
She served her first day in office on Friday.
South Africans will be looking to Batohi to repair the reputation of the NPA, tainted by allegations of political influence.
Former Constitutional Court judge Johann Kriegler says it is probably the trickiest public service job in the country.
She will know where to start, she will know how to go about it. I do believe that she must know that she has the moral and political backing of all right minded South Africans.Johann Kriegler, Former Constitutional Court judge
We must giver her time to breathe, to find her feet and find directive. We must not try to second guess her.Johann Kriegler, Former Constitutional Court judge
If all goes well, I should think that we should see the NPA having turned the corner in about two years from now.Johann Kriegler, Former Constitutional Court judge
