#LilyMineCollapse: 'We need some closure as a family' - Eunice Nyirenda

The sister of one of three victims trapped underground in the Lilly Mine accident in 2016 says life has been difficult without her brother.

Solomon Nyirenda, Pretty Nkambule and Yvonne Mnisi were trapped when the lamp-room in which they were working collapsed into a sinkhole.

Tuesday marked three years since the tragedy.

Solomon's sister Eunice Nyirenda describes life since the incident.

My mother was depending on him financially. So life has been difficult for all of us actually.

Eunice Nyirenda

Luckily I have a praying mother, so I think that is what was giving her strength. She has asked God to give her clarity. We need some closure as a family so she hopes and prays that one day her prayers will be answered.

Eunice Nyirenda

Eunice says they have been told that there are plans to resume operations to recover the bodies but a date has not been set.

I think they are still planning how it going to be done but nothing much was said about resuming the operation.
