The City of Cape Town encourages residents to register their home solar heating systems.
The City has also issued a statement announcing the deadline for the registration of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems as 31 May 2019.
But listener, Peter Dekker, says he's been struggling with the process because it is not a simple matter at all.
It is free of charge from the City's side but if you want to be registered by a registered electrician you have to pay and the prices can go from R4500 - R9000 and it informed by eight pages where you have to fill in all kinds of technical details.— Peter Dekker, Caller
