How the man they call #TheGoodThingsGuy is changing the conversation around SA

Brent Lindeque has won South Africa's blog of the year for the second year in a row for his work on TheGoodThingsGuy.

Lindeque spoke to Azania Mosaka as part of this week's #GoodNewsThursday.

He shares what inspired the blog, as well as how he gave up his corporate job in 2018 to manage the website full-time.

Three and a half years ago I realised there was just nowhere to go in South Africa to get good news and I came up with this idea to create a Facebook page and just to share one story everyday. Suddenly and quite quickly, the Facebook page grew into an actual website and the content I was searching for started finding me.

Brent Lindeque, Managing director - Chaos Theory

We get up to 30 to 40 messages, emails and WhatsApps a day of good news happening in the country and then we source through them and try and find the one's we believe are not out to get corporate gain. It's the real goodness, the human stories.

Brent Lindeque, Managing director - Chaos Theory

We report up to 15 stories a day.

I am living my dream. I see the best of our country and the most incredible things happening everyday. My mission is two things, to change the national conversation and to have a balance.
