The credibility of former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor is under scrutiny as she returns to for the second day of cross-examination at the state capture commission of inquiry.
Mentor is the first person to be cross-examined at the inquiry and a number of discrepancies have already cropped up with her testimony, reports EWN's Clement Manyathela.

Mentor had previously testified that she travelled from Cape Town to Johannesburg in 2010 to meet with former President Jacob Zuma and the Gupta brothers at the request of the then president.
She claimed that she flew onboard a South African Airways (SAA) flight sometime between September and October on a Monday.
This is when she says she met with the Guptas at their Saxonworld home where she was apparently offered a Cabinet job.
However, evidence leaders at the commission have failed to find any proof corroborating her claims.
SAA has no records of her flying out on a Monday between September and October in 2010. Even parliamentary records do not have any records.

On Monday, the commission revealed that its own investigation contradicts Mentor's testimony in relation to her official visit to China in 2010.
Mentor testified last year that she met Gupta brother, Atul, in Beijing. But evidence from the Departments of Home Affairs and Trade and Industry contradict this.
Even with the documentary evidence that the commission is putting before her, she insists that she travelled on a Monday even though she has nothing to back her testimony in that regard.

She's refused to concede that she may have made a mistake when she claimed Atul Gupta was in China during an official trip in 2010.
Zuma's former advisor Lakela Kaunda will cross-examine Mentor on Tuesday afternoon.
