Motoring: Why spinning is Africa's fastest growing motorsport

Motorsport expert Vic Pardal is well known as the founder of SouthSide Crew & host of the TV show Mzanzi Ridez on DSTV's Channel O and Etv's So You Think You Can Spin.

Last year Pardal launched the weekly Spin Sessions audio podcast, capturing the spinning culture in South Africa.

He joined Azania Mosaka in studio to share more on what he says is the fastest growing motorsport on the continent.

It's crazy 'cause it is a sport that encompasses the culture of South Africa in its entirety. When you watch spinning happen live in front of you, it grabs you and keeps you entertained.

Vic Pardal, Motorsport expert

It is proudly being nurtured by all these people. Spinning happens every single weekend right across South Africa and has attendance figures on a small event, from four to ten thousand. The mainstream big events that happen yearly, you attracting 22 000 people. It has got this huge, faithful following.
