Mosiuoa Lekota is a bitter man - Caller

Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota on Wednesday during the debate on the state of the nation address accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of being a sell-out.

Lekota accused Ramaphosa of selling him and other student leaders out to the apartheid special branch when they were activists in the 1970s.

CapeTalk/702 listeners expressed their views on Lekota's comments with some saying he should be left to tell the truth and others asking why is he only coming out now.

My response to Mosiuoa Lekota is that he mustn't take us as kids, he must take his stories to creche kids and they will have a laugh for the day.

Anybody who believes what Lekota is saying, then I don't know. This is the man who distorted history right in front of our eyes. With the issue of land, the man went on to say that whites never stole any land from anyone, this is the type of man we are talking about.

Themba, Caller

Lekota is a bitter man and he must get out of Parliament and make these claims outside Parliament where he will be challenged legally so that he can prove to all South Africans that Ramaphosa was a sell-out.

Fana, Caller

The EFF's Floyd Shivambu suggested that there should be a commission of inquiry to look into the allegation made by Lekota because South African cannot be led by a man who is a sellout.

The EFF is an opposition party they wanted Nkosazana Zuma to win the elections so that they can gain and now that they know they are not going to challenge Cyril Ramaphosa in the election victory he is facing they will do everything to destabilise.

Fana, caller

The question is whether Steve Biko and others were sold out and we need to be happy that information is coming out. I am not a member of the EFF and I'm not going to vote for the EFF but I am with them on this one that there should be a commission of inquiry
