The Baby Moses Baby sanctuary was founded by Lani and Christo de Klerk as a home for babies. Baby Moses is a sanctuary and place of safety for abused, abandoned and neglected babies, toddlers and teens. HIV + and disabled children.
Baby Moses baby sanctuary is at 37 Merle Street, Helderkruin in Roodepoort.
It consists of 4 homes which cater for the children’s different needs. The Merle Street 1 house is a home for traumatized girls the home is 18 months old.
The Merle street 2 house has 6 to 10 children, which were abused or orphaned as babies. In this house they receive immediate medical care and illnesses like hepatitis, kwashiorkor, tuberculosis, scabies, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases are identified and treated. And then the is Dion street house here they care for 10 very special children, one who have been admitted as a baby only a few hours old.
Others are HIV positive or mentally disabled. Baby Moses Baby sanctuary also support two child headed households in the village and a 94 year old granny who also has 2 orphans in her care.
