DStv subscription price hikes for 2019

MultiChoice will increase the prices of certain DStv packages from 1 April, but the company has ensured the customers that it will 'freeze' DStv Premium prices and the subscribers will pay the same price as of 1 April 2019.

Currently, DStv Premium costs R809 per month, excluding the complimentary access fee of R90.

The packages affected by price increases, and the increases are as follows:

DStv Compact Plus in 2018 was R509 and as from the first of April, will be R519.

DStv Compact currently costs R385 and will be R399 per month.

DStv Family was R249 and will be R265.

DStv Access was R99 and will be 105.

DStv EasyView cost R29 and will not go up.

DStv Select cost R249 and will be R265.

Mnet Analogue cost R409 and will be R419.

DStv is facing a difficult battle because there are competitors that have the customers attention and are offering almost the same service at a low price. So the battle DStv is facing is not at the very top, among premium subscribers, it is also at the bottom.

People will leave your product, not necessarily because it is expensive, only because they do not see the value for money. That is why DStv is losing subscribers at the very top. They have received a lot of criticism because of old content they bring to the customers. People want fresh and good content and they want it wherever they are.
