CPUT Alumni '70s seeking engineers to mentor new generation

Kieno Kammies speaks to Faiek Abrahams of the CPUT Alumni '70s, looking for engineers who studied at the former Cape Technikon and Peninsula Technikon in the 1970s-and-80s - to come forward and volunteer their time to help out the current and future generation of engineering students.

He says the idea came up to network with engineers but the pre-computer card system meant most names were lost.

Abrahams says they are asking engineers to come together on Saturday 23 February at the CPUT Belville campus.

He says the plan is to find out how these engineers can assist.

Younger engineers who finished studying in the last year or two, they need a hand to guide them, a mentor to show them the way.
