READ: 'It is clear that there are operational and technical challenges within Eskom'

EWN reporter Clement Manyathela who is at the inquiry says Mashigo has dealt extensively with Eskom's supply of coal from the Tageta-owned Brakfontein Mine.

What we have heard from the commission so far is that he has been explaining how they are able to test the coal that is supplied by Eskom.

What is interesting is what Advocate Kate Hofmeyer, who is the inquiry's evidence leader, had to say about some of the coal that was coming from Eskom and the kind of deals that the Gupta family had.

And what she says is that at the commission, there is evidence that shows that the Gupta owned Tegeta dictated the terms for a business agreement with Eskom and got the utility to sign that agreement without any financial due diligence.
