Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has named and shamed state organs who have ignored her remedial action.
Her office says the defiance has reached unacceptable levels in more than 50 cases.
Eyewitness News reporter Bonga Dlulane says some of these institutions include the Department of Defence as well as a number of provincial and local governments.

There is also the Department of Police, Mr Bheki Cele, in a case where the public protector says that whistle-blowers were not given sufficient support so now they are living on the run.— Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - EWN
She also mentioned the Department of Defense and the Office of the President, saying she has written to him saying your ministers are failing but there is still no action.— Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - EWN
Mkhwebane hopes that the public and parliament will take up this baton with her as she cannot afford to take these matters to court.
She says her hands are tied, she does not want to take every single one of these people who do not adhere to her findings, to court.— Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - EWN
She made an interesting choice that she has to pick and choose cases. At the moment she is caught between a rock and a hard place because she still has to appeal to parliament to give her more money.— Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - EWN
