She cited Finance Minister Tito Mboweni, President Cyril Ramaphosa and Police Minister Bheki Cele as among those who have disregarded her directives.

COO in the Office of the Public Protector, Basani Baloyi spoke to Bongani Bingwa.

She agrees if state institutions ignore remedial action directives from Mkhwebane, the office could be rendered insignificant.

When the Public Protector took office, she committed to assisting the vulnerable, so when we make a finding everyone who is a public official knows that the remedial action is binding.
