The Central City Improvement District (CCID) has submitted a new business plan to the City of Cape Town requiring more improved services, and resources to support the amount developments and the influx of tourists in the city.
CEO at CCID Tasso Evangelinos says it needs to provide additional security on the ground as well as more law enforcement within the CBD.
CCID is asking property owners in the private sector to increase the budget to cover for additional services.
We are looking at additional traffic wardens which are funded by the CCID as well as expanding our social development services for the homeless on the streets.— Tasso Evangelinos, CEO - CCID
We are also looking at additional cleaning in the form of road management repairs, graffiti removal, and substance reduction programme for certain people on the streets.— Tasso Evangelinos, CEO - CCID
Evangelinos says it is currently engaging with stakeholders, informing them of its intentions and the reason why it wants to increase their budget.
