Gauteng lost R21 billion through wasteful expenditure says Msimanga
Gauteng Finance MEC Babara Creecy will deliver the provincial budget on Tuesday.
In 2018, R121 billion was announced for Gauteng with Education and Health receiving the bulk of that budget.
Did that budget better the lives of the people of Gauteng?
Democratic Alliance (DA) Premier Candidate for Gauteng Solly Msimanga says last year's budget was a missed opportunity.
If you look at the trend of the budget, the loss of money through wasteful expenditure amounted to R21 billion.Solly Msimanga, Premier Candidate for Gauteng - DA
That would have equalled to 70 000 houses that could have been built, 30 new schools, 20 clinics and five new hospitals combined. So we have lost the greatest of opportunities right there.Solly Msimanga, Premier Candidate for Gauteng - DA
Gauteng has been rated the worst in terms of paying small businesses within the 30 day period. Therefore you cannot talk about township revitalisation if you are failing to pay billions of rands owed to small businesses within the required time.Solly Msimanga, Premier Candidate for Gauteng - DA
