Gauteng Department of Education's spokesperson Steve Mabona has confirmed the suspension of the three pupils and the incidence has been reported with the police.

This is quite a sad incident. We visited the school and you could see that these are 13 and 14-year-olds who are accused of such an incident.

Steve Mabona, Spokesperson - Gauteng Department of Education

We understand that this took place at a camp where Grade 8s were being orientated on how to behave in a classroom and how to cope with a new curriculum and, unfortunately, this occurred.
