[LISTEN] 'Mandla is lying and is just trying to clear his name'

Bongekile 'Babes Wodumo' Simelane's father, Reverand Mbongeni Simelane has dismissed claims that his daughter is violent and has repeatedly assaulted Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo in the past.

Maphumulo is said to be pursuing a counter charge after Simelane opened a case of assault against him this week.

Reverand Simelane says Maphumulo is simply trying to clear his name.

That counter charge is just ad defense mechanism to clear himself from South Africans because most South Africans are angry about what he did.

Reverand Mbongeni Simelane

The reverand relays past incidents where his daughter suffered at the hands of Mpahumulo.

He is not telling the truth. I sat down with him, I sat down with his father.

Reverand Mbongeni Simelane

There was an incident where he was dragging my daughter down the stairs. The second incident, he was slapping my daughter in front of my daughters. I can come to court with witnesses, over five or ten who were there and saw when Mandla was kicking around my daughter.

He says his daughter is receiving medical treatment and counselling.
