'Besides being a female, I have such a strong offering' - Moozlie

After endless auditions, Nomuzi 'Moozlie' Mabena finally got her big break and made a name for herself when she won the MTV VJ search in 2012.

Four years later she decided to start writing her own music and was soon a well-known performer on the South African hip-hop scene.

The businesswoman and record label owner joined Lee Kasumba, standing in for Azania Mosaka, to share her story and more about her latest projects.

In celebration of International Women's Day, Moozlie along with female hip-hop artists Gigi Lamayne, Rouge, Rossa Ree and Mz Kizz have collaborated with Castle Lite to rework Queen Latifah's popular '90s anthem, "U.N.I.T.Y".

I have definitely been able to see that if I work together with women, I can get a lot further than if I am fighting against them.

I came up in an all-male label, I was the first and only female signed to that label and I have got to admit nobody tried anything funny with me, I was incredibly blessed.

Besides being a female, I have such a strong offering to the game. I am a crucial part of the South African hip-hop culture and that is something a lot of people have to establish if they want to be taken seriously.
