Managing director at J2 Software John McLoughlin and ConsumerTalks' Wendy Knowler weigh in on how to prevent cyber attacks.

Wendy Knowler, Consumer journalist - ConsumerTalk

Knowler says to do the hard work and put the checks and balances in place.

McLoughlin offers a cyber tip.

John Mc Loughlin, Managing director - J2 Software

When using free public wi-fi, McLoughlin says don’t carry out any financial transactions unless you are using a VPN.

He says when you automatically connect to a store or restaurants' wi-fi without needing a password, you put yourself at greater risk.

If your accounts are linked and you have a credit facility they can take money you haven’t spent.

Wendy Knowler, Consumer journalist - ConsumerTalk
