Judgment reserved in Moyane's cross examination application

Judgment has been reserved on Tom Moyane's bid to cross-examine Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.

Moyane’s lawyers have argued that for Gordhan’s evidence to be accepted by the state capture commission, it must be tested.

Advocate Dali Mpofu addressed the inquiry on Wednesday.

Eyewitness News reporter Bonga Dlulane has more on the story.

He thinks that Gordhan is spearheading and calling him the master of state capture, saying that [Gordhan] is the reason he does not have a job anymore.

According to Dlulane, Gordhan has accused Moyane of trying to drive a political campaign and that the former Sars boss is using the Zondo Commission to restate his career and clear his name.

Gordhan maintains that this would be a waste of taxpayers money because there is nothing new that they are trying to find out from him. He is saying that Moyane does not have a basis to stand on and that the commission should not allow him to use their work as a way to settle political scores.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has yet to make a decision.
