I bought a two-plate gas stove with a five-kilogram cylinder. I also bought led lights that have a USB port which enables me to charge my phone.

Wits professor Estelle Trengove also called in and said one of her colleagues; Professor Willie Cronje has a solution that South Africans can use.

What they have developed is a plug and play system, a solar system that consists of batteries where you can start up with one battery and one solar panel and then when you get a bit more money, you can just plug in another battery.
