'There are no doubt elements of truth in Agrizzi's testimony, but needs testing'

Former Bosasa chief operations officer, Angelo Agrizzi is back on the stand at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.

On Thursday he gave more testimony on corrupt activities at Bosasa with high ranking politicians and government officials, including that Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane received hundreds of thousands of rand from the firm to renovate her home along with so-called cash ‘donations.’

News24 investigative journalist Kyle Cowan says Agrizzi's testimony is his version of events and may not all be truthful.

I have no doubt there are elements of truth in Mr Agrizzi's testimony. What we do have to be careful of though, is looking at everything he says, and saying oh yes, this definitely happened.

Kyle Cowan, Investigative journalist - News24

Most importantly, Cowan says Mokonyane needs to explain how, already aware of allegations of corruption in Bosasa, she went to the company as head of elections for the ANC in 2014, asking for money.
