Netcare runs 200 generators to ensure patient safety during load shedding - CEO

Netcare CEO, Dr Richard Friedland talks to Kieno Kammies about how load shedding has increased costs at each of their facilities.

But Friedland says patient safety is paramount.

There is no choice but to have constant and consistent electricity.

He explains there is an uninterrupted power supply that is always available.

The group also runs a fleet of 200 diesel-operated generators to ensure patient safety.

Diesel is 3.7 times the cost of normal electricity.
