Unique celebration of the #FreedomCharter anniversary

What do you get when you invite an MEC, a bunch of millenials, Instagrammers and radio personalities to meet up at Soweto's iconic Freedom Square? Well, this week 702 invited that exact combination of people to take part in an "Instameet" or photowalk.

The walking tour was led by Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Ismail Vadi who was born in Kliptown and shared anecdotes from his childhood and growing up in the area.

As he led a group of Instagrammers, Lead SA's Future Leaders, and a group of interested people around Freedom Square MEC Vadi reflected on the legacy of the Freedom Charter in the tapestry of South Africa's democracy.

702 was joined by a few young people from the Umuzi Photography Club at the photowalk, who snapped the photos below:
