The Department of Social Development in the Western Cape advises that parents always verify if an ECD centre is registered.

Parents have been warned to be more critical of the quality of care provided at the early childhood development centres (ECD) they send their kids to.

This comes in light of a widely-spread video showing a Gauteng crèche worker assaulting a toddler for vomiting in class.

The Department of Social Development in the Western Cape advises that parents always verify if an ECD is registered.

Provincial MEC Albert Fritz says parents should personally spend time at the facility to observe the practices and environment there.

Fritz adds that greater parent involvement and vigilance will help combat improper practices at ECDs.

I want to emphasise the importance parents being vigilant.
