The lawyer representing the Nunnies Neuron Nursery principal says he is not privy to claims that the school's principal was aware of the abuse taking place at the crèche .
A teacher who was captured on video assaulting children at the nursery school in Carletonville was arrested this week and has been given bail.
In an interview with Joanne Joseph on Thursday, Gauteng social development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza said the crèche was running illegally and would be closed down. She also said that one of the parents who spoke to her on her visit to the school claims that the principal failed to act when she inquired about a set of injuries her child had sustained.
Danie Van Zyl, the attorney representing the Nunnies Neuron Nursery principal, says the person that took the video recently contacted the principal and threatened to publish the videos.
The principal didn't know about it, she was not aware of these videos that had ever even been taken. In a WhatsApp message this person notified the principal that she will tech her a lesson.Danie Van Zyl, attorney representing the Nunnies Neuron Nursery principal
