The open line on the Eusebius McKaiser got off on a steamy note.
Caller Lesley said more resources need to be made available to all people regardless of colour. She argues that giving more women a seat at the table is not going to transform society.
Eusebius went head-to-head with Lesley on the issue of white privilege.
I didn't come from a family that had money that would entitle me to go open a firm. Had I been a given a seat on the board of a company at the age of 28 I don't think I would have done the job or myself justice.— Lesley, Caller
I don't think it is useful or the solution to say in South Africa today that the solution is to take stuff from men and give to women or stuff from white people and give to black people.— Lesley, Caller
There is a class advantage that you as a white woman has that enables you to say something that you said three minutes ago. I opened my own business.— Eusebius McKasier, Show host
The average black woman or man can't say that. The question to ask is what did you tap into in your own structural privilege that enabled you to do so.— Eusebius McKasier, Show host
I find it offensive that you are speaking to me as though you understand where I am coming from and you believe I have benefited from being white.— Lesley, Caller
I sold my fridge, my microwave to start my business. Are you telling me there are no white people or black people at the age of 28 who've got a microwave they can sell to start a business?— Lesley, Caller
I can't unwhite myself.— Lesley, Caller

The woman on the line With @Eusebius is finding it so hard to acknowledge that she has white privilege white enabled her to start her business and that chances of having happened if she were black are almost zero. Nkosiyam! #702OpenLine— Nkosi (@nkosi___) April 8, 2019
