MTN Walk the Talk with 702 fosters and encourages social cohesion, says MMC

The 18th edition of Joburg’s MTN Walk The Talk will take place on 28 July, and this year it celebrates 25 years of democracy.

City of Johannesburg member of the mayoral committee (MMC) Dr Ntombi Khumalo says it has partnered with MTN Walk The Talk because it is an opportunity to showcase its services.

Khumalo chats to 702 breakfast show host Bongani Bingwa while travelling the scheduled route for the walk.

Entries for this year’s event are now open.

It is also an event that fosters and encourages social cohesion and it also encourages residents of Johannesburg to be healthy.

We believe a healthy city is a working city, so that is part of the reason why we are partnering up with MTN Walk The Talk with 702.

I think this year is a good reason to be in partnership, a partnership that is going to be very long and that we don't see an end to, because it is for positive reasons that we partner up.

Khumalo encouraged residents to enter the event.

To walk for 25 years of democracy, I think any South African citizen and Johannesburg citizen should join in to ensure that we celebrate our democracy.
