The Square Kilometer Array project, aimed at building the world's largest radio telescope. will enable astronomers to monitor the sky in detail and thousands of times faster than any system currently in existence.
South Africa has established a critical role, in partnership with other countries, to oversee the initiative conceptualised in the 80's.
